RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICY
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Thank you for shopping with Benwell Road Gooners.
We want you to be happy with your purchase. This Returns and Refunds Policy explains our returns process and your rights as a UK consumer.
Nothing in this policy affects or limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
1. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
If you purchase products from us online, you generally have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone you nominate (other than the carrier), receives the goods.
If your order is delivered in multiple instalments, the cancellation period generally runs from the date you receive the final item.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us of your decision within the 14-day cancellation period.
You can do this by contacting us here
Please include your order number and details of the products you wish to cancel.
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must return the goods to us within 14 days.
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession.
You may handle the goods to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functionality, in a similar way to how you would reasonably be able to inspect them in a shop.
If the goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and their value has been reduced as a result, we may be entitled to make a deduction from your refund where permitted by law.
2. RETURNING GOODS
Please contact us here before returning an item so that we can provide you with the appropriate return instructions.
Returns should be sent to the return address we provide to you.
Return address: 14 Alton Gardens, Southend-On-Sea, England, SS2 6QZ
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise not in conformity with the contract, you will normally be responsible for the direct cost of returning goods when exercising your statutory cancellation right.
We recommend obtaining proof of postage when returning an item.
3. REFUNDS FOR CANCELLED ORDERS
If you exercise your statutory right to cancel, we will refund you for the goods and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered by us.
If you selected a more expensive delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional cost.
We will normally issue your refund within 14 days of the earliest of:
- the day we receive the returned goods; or
- the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods.
We may delay the refund until we have received the goods or you have provided evidence that you have sent them back, whichever happens first.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless we have agreed otherwise with you.
Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process the refund.
4. OUR VOLUNTARY 30-DAY RETURNS POLICY
In addition to your statutory cancellation rights, we offer a 30-day returns period for eligible products.
This means that, after the statutory 14-day cancellation period has expired, you may still request a return within 30 days of receiving your order, subject to the conditions below.
For a voluntary return under this 30-day policy, products should be:
- unworn;
- unused;
- in their original condition;
- with original tags attached where applicable;
- in their original packaging where reasonably possible; and
- accompanied by proof of purchase.
This additional 30-day return policy is a voluntary policy offered by Benwell Road Gooners and does not affect or restrict any statutory rights you may have.
5. FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT GOODS
Please inspect your order when you receive it and contact us as soon as reasonably possible if:
- the product is faulty;
- the product is damaged;
- you received the wrong product;
- the product does not match its description; or
- the product is otherwise not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as required by law.
Please contact us here
and provide your order number and, where appropriate, photographs showing the problem.
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers may have a short-term right to reject faulty or otherwise non-conforming goods and receive a refund. In other circumstances, you may have rights to a repair or replacement and, where applicable, a price reduction or refund.
Where goods are faulty or otherwise do not conform to the contract, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law.
Where a return is required because the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise do not conform to the contract, we will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.
6. SALE ITEMS
Products purchased at a sale or discounted price have the same statutory consumer rights as products purchased at full price.
We therefore do not exclude sale items from your statutory rights.
Our voluntary 30-day returns policy may have different conditions for sale items, but those conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
7. EXCEPTIONS TO THE RIGHT TO CANCEL
Certain products are excluded from the statutory right to cancel under UK law.
Depending on the circumstances, these may include:
- personalised or bespoke products made to your specifications;
- products that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- sealed products that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed;
- sealed audio or video recordings or computer software once unsealed; and
- other products or services for which the law provides an exception.
Where an exception applies, we will make this clear before you place your order where required.
These exceptions do not normally apply where the product is faulty or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
8. EXCHANGES
We do not currently operate a direct exchange service.
If you would like a different size, colour or product, you can return the original product in accordance with the applicable return terms and place a new order.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the original product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
9. GIFT CARDS
Gift cards are not refundable unless required by law.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights that may apply.
10. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
If you purchase products for delivery outside the United Kingdom, additional consumer, customs, tax and import rules may apply depending on the destination country.
Where applicable, we will comply with the mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to the relevant transaction.
